Snow Day

Guess what we woke up to this morning -- Snow!  Lots of snow.

It was soft, and dry, and fluffy.  It's kind of melty slushy now but it was sure gorgeous this first thing this morning.

At noon, we moved the horses back to their pastures.  We may get a bit more snow tonight and then we have sunshine on tap into the weekend.  Lucy walked very carefully through the snow.  She doesn't trust it.  Tex couldn't wait to roll and then play:

    1. Thanks, that's my favorite too. It has a quiet peacefulness to it -- and I love how Kersey is gazing off into the distance.

  3. Gorgeous pictures! Couldn't get the video but I'm sure it was Tex rolling. We've just got high winds and sleet and rain. Not much fun.

    1. You are right -- Tex rolling, then getting up and playing with Flash.

Wow, now THAT is a lot of snow!!
I think it's hilarious that they like to roll in the snow.
Too funny!! (I don't know why I find it so funny!)

    1. I think its funny, too. And they leave a muddy snow angel when they are done -- I love that they are giving themselves a snow bath.

  5. Don't you just love how beautiful evrything looks in the snow? So pretty...and cold. Your horses act just like ours did, rolling and then getting frisky. It's much nicer than rolling in mud.

    1. I do love how beautiful everything is in the snow. I love how it shines in the moonlight and how it coats the trees. The only thing I don't like is the slush when it melts.

  6. I'm surprised. That is a lot of snow for you. It's very pretty...now. LOL. Ours is in the in-betweener stage--melty, dirty, frozen.

    1. We usually get one or two snowfalls like this every winter. The old-timers tell us that we used to get a lot more snow, a lot more often. I'm glad we've only experienced that once (our first winter) because when it gets past 6 or 8 inches, its a real pain to work in.
